I ironed. Went to Daisy's, she did not feel too good.
Wednesday, October 2, 1963
I washed and cleaned my blinds. Dad went to Plainwell and put muskmelon out and sold them.
Thursday, October 3, 1963
Earl and Edit were here this afternoon. We had 2 muskmelon and gave them small tomatoes to take home.
Friday, October 4, 1963
I did not do too much to day. Daisy and Ike came over a while today. She went to Dr. Mcdill and he said her blood pressure was 108, pretty high, she looks better. Was a very nice day today.
Saturday, October 5, 1963
I am going over to Orpha's while Dad goes to Kalamazoo. Nice day today, also. Well I had a good time at Orpha's, Claudia and baby was here, Had dinner and then Claudia and Rosemary went away and left baby and she went to sleep.
Sunday, October 6, 1963
Stayed home all day and it was a very warm but nice day. Dad don't feel too good. I made drop bean dumplings for dinner also apple pie.
Monday, October 7, 1963
Sent Connie a card, she will be 4 years the 13th of October. Dad will go to Dr. today. Sent letter to Mass for the cards $1.00, $1.25 spoon holder and 10 cents postage I owed them. $2.35. Also sent card to Connie for Birthday and Palma a sympathy card. Orby is going to see Dr. DeLong on North Street.
Tuesday, October 8, 1963
Went to Daisy's, she said Mr. Bennett's daughter died today, around noon. They are tearing up road in front of Ike's house. Rosie went to Dr. Brown and he helped her. I cleaned my bedrooms. Ike gave us some Macintosh apples they are good.
Wednesday, October 9, 1963
Went to Kalamazoo and ordered me some glasses. Will get them in two weeks, cost $18.68, down $5.00, $13.68 due when I get them at King's. Also looked at TV set at Sears but don't know if we will get Silvertown or not. Dad went to Plainwell to see Doctor. Cost $4.00 for eye examination, $22.68 total.

I did some wash and finished my dress. I make it smaller. I have more to cut down. Palma called me and we had quite a talk, she told me her son Thomas was in hospital and been there 3 weeks, room 245 at Bronson Hospital.

Went to Otsego, got papers, Daisy was still feeling no good. they started digging and put in curb on the north side of the street in front of Ike's.
Saturday, October 12, 1963
Went to Kalamazoo to look at a Mr. Johnson's place in Millwood. Did not like it. This morning went to Daisy's, they commenced to work on street as some thing broke and they had to fix it. Daisy was not too good. I washed my two bathroom rugs.

We went to Orpha's, the babies were both there and they are sure cute. Dennise can walk and Brian can stand up, walk around chairs and center table. He tries to talk and I guess they both can say some words. I sent card and $1.00 to Connie.

Washed out my brown dress and going to make it smaller. It is a job as the material is stretchy.
Tuesday, October 15, 1963
I have my brown dress nearly done. I guess I will have 1/2 tomorrow to finish it. It sure is a nice day. Orby washed some of the windows and put the window in for the winter. Daisy called, said Dr. Mcdill said she would have to have operation on her navel. I sure am sorry for her, poor girl, something all the time.

Went to Otsego, they have the street in front of Daisy's all torn up and we parked car out on Wilmot Street. Daisy is some better but the Dr. Mcdill said she would have to have her navel operated on. I don't no if she will or not, Merle had a kidney stone operation today.
Thursday, October 17, 1963
Orpha, Claudia and Baby was here today for dinner. Got letter today about Merle being in hospital, he was pretty bad. Letha wrote told me. We called Letha tonight, she said Merle had the operation and was feeling pretty good, said if anything went wrong she would call us. I am so glad he is over the operation.

I did a small wash, then I made one of my vest 3 inches smaller. I don't feel too good, my head and stomach hurts.

It rained some today. Daisy is feeling pretty bad, they can get in their driveway with car.
Sunday, October 20, 1963
Just sitting around, both have stomach hurt. Daisy and Ike came over this afternoon. We had a good visit, Daisy brought over a dress for me to shorten, she is getting thinner She did not feel too well but was some better.
Monday, October 21, 1963
The medicine did not do my stomach any good, still bothers me. I cut and made Daisy's dress shorter, she don't look too good.
Tuesday, October 22, 1963
Dad went to Kalamazoo and I went to Orpha's, they are pretty good. Claudia came too and went to store. I went along and bought a get well card to send to Merle. daisy and Ike came over to get her dress, she don't look too good.
Wednesday, October 23, 1963
Sent an air mail card with letter to Merle today. Was to Daisy's, I did not feel too good. She did not either. they are getting ready to gravel the street in front of Daisy's then they will tarvey it.
Thursday, October 24, 1963
A man bought two old tires we had from our Oldsmoble $5.00 a piece. I washed my green and red sweater. wrote letter to Mrs. Dennis.
Friday, October 25, 1963
Dennise will be 1 year old today. Got letter from Merle and Letha, said he felt better but the stitches drawed so. I sent Birthday card and $1.00 to Dennise.
Saturday, October 26, 1963
Stayed home, Daisy come over a while, she is so discouraged and afraid, seems as the Doctors don't know what really does ail her, poor dear. She takes it so patient, don't complain much, the sweetest smile she had on, she is a wonderful daughter. I love her so and she loves me.
Sunday, October 27, 1963
Took a little ride to cemetery, then stopped at Ike and Daisy's. Daisy was still sick and worried. Sold last tomatoes 50 cent basket.
Monday, October 28, 1963
I did a wash, fixed my corset and hemmed up my dress. Orby got a geranium from Otsego for me to set out.
Tuesday, October 29, 1963
Merle called from Arizona, I sure was glad to hear his voice and he sounded good. I sure pray he will fully recover from his kidney operation. I sure love my preacher son, that's what I always wanted him to be but as now he is no preacher but he sure loves the Lord.

Went to Kalamazoo and got my glasses, cost $13.67 last payment. $22.67 total.
Thursday, October 31, 1963
Went to Daisy's, they had around 125 kids come for trick or treat. Daisy had her hair fixed, cost $10.00. It rained in evening and last night.
