Wrote letter to Merle. Dad is out picking pears, we now have sold all of our pears.

It is cloudy this morning. Orby got his hair cut.
Tuesday, September 3, 1963
Orby went to Plainwell and I was canning beets and I took a heart spell. The top blew off the canner as I let it fall on stove and the steam blew the fluid up on ceiling. It was a mess. I was scared and was sick from 1 o'clock till Wednesday morning.
Wednesday, September 4, 1963
I finished canning the beets. Feel some better, it is chilly today but sun shining nice. Orpha called said Rosemary got her glasses yesterday but having some trouble with them.
Thursday, September 5, 1963
I did a wash and had two bad spells with my heart. Dorothea McCalla, their daughter, brought Mr. and Mrs. over and they stayed till after 10 pm. Then Dorothea came after them, we had a lunch around 9 oclock.

Did not get up this morning till after 7 o'clock. I did my ironing.

Daisy and Ike came over and Ike and Dad went to sale. I did another batch of dark clothes.

Stayed home all day did not do much of anything but in afternoon Dennis, Claudia and Dennise was here and is getting so she can nearly walk. She is a good baby.
Monday, September 9, 1963
Orby went to Kalamazoo at 9 come home 1:30 pm. Orpha was here for about 2 hours, said she did not feel too good. We got a yellow clothes basket today.

It is a nice day, we went to Orpha's this afternoon. Had a nice ride, saw Rosemary with her new glasses on. Orpha had her dining room table pained white, it looks nice.

Home all day, thoght it was going to rain, but it just sprinkled a little. I talked with Daisy and she said she was going to see Dr. Mcdill tomorrow at 8 pm to see what he thinks she has.

Orpha has a couple of bad teeth she is going to have out as they are giving her lots of trouble.

I did not talk to Orpha as she had 2 teeth pulled out and did not feel too good. Today is Connie's birthday.

Went to Dennis' and she got a lunch for us, it was good, had hamburgers and coffee cake, pears, and had a good time but did not see Dorothea as she was shopping for Junior's children. (Junior is Dorothea's son) They leave Tuesday morning for Florida for the winter. I'll miss them.

We went 77 miles to Earl Fouts' at Decatur, there and back. Earl's looked pretty good, stopped at Oshtemo to Orpha's and stayed about 1/2 hour, had a nice ride. Earl's gave us a pumpkin to make some pies.

Well today is a nice day. We went to Daisy and she feels better. She went to Dr. Mcdill. Rosie was there, she is having trouble with her legs and hands.

I called Mrs. Dennis and they were getting ready to go on their trip, so I gave them good bye. I hate to see them going but I know it is best for them as Dorothea will take good care of them. Orpha, Claudia and baby Dennise came for a short visit.

Daisy called and said she fell and hurt her foot. She in tended to go to Dr. tonight but now the Dr. is going to send her some medicine.

We went to Daisy's this afternoon and Dad and Ike went to Plainwell to see about the car we bought.

Home all day, heard Kennedy speak at 11:15 o'clock on channel 3. I vacuumed my front room also the two bedrooms.
Saturday, September 21, 1963
Commenced taking Maalox for my stomach and mouth. Dad saw Effie at the store in Kalamazoo. Got some polydent and a tooth cup and Dad got one too. His is yellow, mine is pink. A man called about house trailer, we may go tomorrow to see it at Vicksburg, he wants $1,750.00 for it.

Went to look at house trailer at Vicksburg also stopped at Austin's to see their trailer. the man wanted $1,795.00 for it, it was 18 foot and a very nice trailer, the man's name was Cotts.

Went to Orpha's and Claudia came with Dennise and she was trying to walk.

Stayed home, did not do much. Washed a few pieces, it was a nice day.
Wednesday, September 25, 1963
Dennise started to walk, said she was a proud little girl. We went to daisy's today, got papers and found out how everyone was. Daisy feels a lot better in her back but her sprained foot is not too good.

Dad went to Kalamazoo this morning and bought plastic seat covers, had them put on car, cost $14.95. Walley paid his payment today and it is a nice day. I guess we are having Indian Summer. Got a letter from Merle today, Joyce don't feel too good.

I stayed home. Dad went to Kalamazoo but did ot buy anything just bummed around. I got my hand ointment today, cost $2.07.

Looks a little like rain. Dad is going to a sale near old 131 near Three Rivers. Went at 11 am got home at 7:15 pm. Did not buy anything.

Nice day, but it rained a little last night. We drove over to see Bob and family, we had a very nice visit. I took coffee with them. Dad had coffee and pie. I thought I better not eat as my stomach is not too good. We took muskmelon and tomatoes over. Stopped in at Claudia's and saw Dennise walking.

I did some wash. Cooked apple for sauce, sent Merle and Ernest Dennis a letter. It is a nice day.
