(Rosa and Orby are getting ready to sell this farm in Vicksburg, at the corner of V Avenue and Portage Road. They have sold the home on Wilmot in Otsego to Merle, and they have sold the home in Parchment.)

Helped Merle move a few things today, he moved in the Wilmot house. today is my sisters birthday, she is 65 years old.
Monday, April 3, 1944
Dad and I went to Otsego to get rent, took Letha over some potatoes. Our best president is Mr. Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Tuesday, April 4, 1944
I did my wash, Ike's and Daisy and Betty was here a while this evening, he said man wanted our little house on Orleans Street.
Wednesday, April 5, 1944
I did my ironing, Dad changed the shoats in the brooder house. They will be 8 months old tomorrow. (shoats?)

Hog 8 month today, went to Orphas, gave the baby $4.00 for gift, took a knit kimono that Edith sent. (kimono: what babies used to wear)

I cleaned house today.

Stopped milking May cow, went to Otsego rented little house, drawed out ashes. Nice day.

Today is Easter. Was nice day, sold house at Parchment.

Today Orby took car to get fixed.

Orby went after the car. Bud and Orpha was here a while this evening, brought us a box of candy for Easter.

Sold sow and 8 pigs for $50.00. I did my wash.

Bought holestein calf at sale for $4.25, Sold Sadie's calf today for $28.80 to Bushhouse. Ike came over said the paper roof blew off his house, 1 row paper. Went to sale after dinner, the cows sure sold cheap and old John Deer went for $305.00 dollars.

It rained all day. Merle came for supper, he came for the die and wrenches to fix his water pipes. My Daddy's birthday.

Stayed home all day.

Went to Otsego, Dad helped Ike put on roof. Chuck helped. Jackson's have moved.

Commenced plowing th eoats ground 3:30 pm. Commenced cleaning my house.

Dad is plowing, I washed curtains upstairs also cleaned 2 rooms.

I did my wash, Dad is plowing.

Dad is disking and dragging ground, I am cleaning house.

We went to Otsego to collect rent and when we came home we found Sally calf dead.

Stayed home all day. Dad would not go any place. I can forgive but not forget.

It is rainy and bad.

Red got bull calf this morning. Rainy and cold.

Went to Three Rivers, bought white and Guernsey spots, cost $6.25.

I did my wash, Dad disc the oats ground. The children come from school to see if I had old stockings, they will come after paper tomorrow.

The children came and got the paper. We got gas $10.53 to day. Today Mr. Haywood came to look at our house.

Orby is drilling oats today.

Mrs. Williams and family here for supper, she brought me a nice cake and flowers.
