Noted in diary: Can Corn: Cook corn cut from cob at 250 heat, pack when cool in jars and boil 2 1/2 hours. Add 1 teaspoon salt to each quart.

16 eggs. Went to Merle's for his birthday dinner, had lovely time but it is sure hot. Bobby came home with us. Merle was 26 today. He sure is a swell kid and a darling. Went lake in afternoon.

5 eggs. Catherine went home. The hog got in chickens and a lot are dying.

9 eggs. Sent order for shoes. Chicks are bad off.

8 eggs. The new carpenter worked till moon then Orby let him go. No good.
