November 1941

(Rosa and Orby have been bouncing back and forth, living at the farm in Vicksburg and their home in Otsego - and this month they move in to a home in Parchment.

Merle and his wife Letha are expecting a baby and Rosa is getting a puppy)

Saturday, November 1, 1941
4 eggs. Went to Otsego, it turned off cold and raining. Today in 1897 my Daddy was died in Denver Indiana and buried at Courter Indiana, beside my Mother and Brother.

3 eggs. We brought Douglas Cassidy to work for us.

2 eggs. We are staining windows and painting.

It is cold and snowing and raining.

Dog. Took Douglas home as he had to quit work and go to school. Got a little pup from Bakers, it is about 5 weeks old.

Orby is husking corn, it is rainy and bad.

Moved in little house at Parchment. Daisy gave me salt and pepper shaker, color blue. I gave Daisy 1 duck and Merle 2 ducks.

Orby went to farm. Sold the spring January chickens, I got from Merle $19.87 18 cts per lb.

Went to farm, it was so nice today.

Went to Orphas, took them a duck, had a swell time after dinner Bud and Dad went hunting rabbit. A nice day.
Monday, November 17, 1941
Went to farm till noon. Empty feather tick. Orby tool 25 pullets to market at 18 ct. per lb. A very nice day.

Went to farm, washed the feather tick Monday. Ordered paint and enamel. A lovely day.

Orby went to farm. I stayed home. It is nice day, sent order to Spiegel catalog.

Mrs. Williams was over, tis a lovely day. Orby went to husk some corn.

Did a wash, some colder. took a baby bed over to Merle's, got 1 dozen eggs 40 cts.

Orby went to farm, I am ironing. He has nearly all corn husked. Quite cold today.

It snowed last nite, quite cold. Orby is sleeping, he worked last nite.
Monday, November 24, 1941
I washed windows and cleaned house. Sent reorder for shades and reordered linoleum. We live at Parchment.

I did my washing. My back hurts badly. Snow still on ground and quite cold.

Did ironing, I am tire.

Got letter that Orpha was coming Sunday.

Went to Otsego to get rent, was to see Merle's. They are fine, they got 2 letters from Silva.
Saturday, November 29, 1941
Went to farm. Dad cemented septic tank over as the men never made it right. Orpha came, will stay all nite.
Sunday, November 30, 1941
Bud was here had a swell time. The men went hunting, got 3 rabbits and 1 possum. Got paint for farm home.
